Learning Disabilities and ADHD Across the Lifespan: Evidence-Based Diagnosis and Intervention
We held our CPA CE credit-approved CMHRT Spring Workshop for Mental Health Professionals and Students at Federation Hall, University of Waterloo on Friday May 10, 2019.
We had over 90 registrants for the full day workshop that was facilitated by Dr. Tara McAuley and Dr. Marjory Phillips of the Psychology Department at UW.
The morning focused on integrating research findings with practical clinical implications for the assessment and diagnosis of Learning Disabilities and ADHD. Dr. Phillips presented the new Ontario Psychological Association Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Assessment of Children, Adolescents, and Adults with Learning Disabilities. Dr. McAuley shared her research and clinical expertise in assessing ADHD across the lifespan. The afternoon reviewed empirical evidence and clinical therapy tools and techniques for tailoring therapy with individuals with Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
