The Centre for Mental Health Research would like to thank Dr. Michelle Lebyman, from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, for an outstanding clinical workshop on “Working Through Clinical Challenges: A DBT Perspective”
With over 80 people in attendance, the workshop provided mental health practitioners and students with evidence-based knowledge and clinical tools from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy perspective for working through the clinical challenges that are faced by many clients. This full day experience educated participants on what DBT is and how it can be used for a variety of important issues that face our clients.
Dr. Lebyman’s extensive clinical experience was presented throughout the day in such a way to ensure that those in attendance were able to use the material to enhance their care for clients. According to one attendee, she was “an engaging speaker (who) used language that was easy to understand with lots of clear examples and metaphors”. Another attendee shared that they particularly enjoyed “how the information was all useful and presented in a way that builds knowledge and understanding for practice”.
