The CMHR, as a member of the Waterloo Region Psychology Consortium (WRPC), was actively involved in the interviews held in January for the 2016-2017 residency cohort.
Dr. Ian Nicholson, Director of the CMHR, reported “It is always wonderful to be a part of these interviews. I am continually amazed at the clinical experience and professionalism that is so clearly evident in our junior colleagues.”
Jamie Lyn Flesch, one of the current Adult Track residents toured many of the applicants through the CMHR and was able to describe her experiences in the residency with them. “It has been a great pleasure to meet with the WRPC applicants. Not only did these tours seem beneficial to the applicants themselves, but they also made me realize just how proud I am to represent this Consortium and its wonderful training opportunities.”
The Consortium, which includes not only the CMHR but also Lutherwood Children’s Mental Health Centre, The Waterloo Region District School Board, and the University of Waterloo Counselling & Psychological Services, began with its first set of residents in September 2013 and is looking toward an application for accreditation with the Canadian Psychological Association.
