The QNC metrology suite comprises a number of lab spaces located in the basement of the QNC building, directly below the QNC cleanroom. These lab spaces are intended to house sensitive microscopy, spectroscopy and diffraction tools to serve the University of Waterloo community. These lab spaces sit on the same independent foundation slab as the QNC cleanroom enabling the control of acoustic vibrations to below the VC-G level. The labs are physically organized to minimize electromagnetic interference from transformers in the QNC building, enabling state-of-the-art electron microscopy tools to be installed.
