Purpose and role responsibility
The
Canada
Research
Chair
(CRC)
Internal
Review
Committee
will
advise
the
Vice-President,
Research
on
a
variety
of
issues
related
to
CRCs
and,
in
particular,
provide
recommendations
to
the
Vice-President
Research
on:
- nominations from Faculties (both new and renewal) for CRC positions, taking into consideration alignment with the University’s strategic priorities and the CRC Program’s selection criteria,
- requests to use flex moves, taking into consideration potential impact to the Four Designated Groups (FDG), and
- requests for University Research Chair appointments in recognition of an exemplary research trajectory after the second term of a Tier 1 CRC.
All members will receive equity training from the Human Rights, Equity, and Inclusion Office prior to beginning committee work.
Composition
The membership of the CRC Internal Review Committee will be:
- The Vice-President, Research (VPR) who will serve as Chair
- The Associate Vice-President, Research and the Associate Vice-President, Research Oversight and Analysis (AVPRs)
- Three senior faculty members at large
The VPR and AVPRs will be standing committee members. All other committee members will be selected by the VPR, in consultation with the Deans, for 2-year term appointments, respecting the following requirements:
- membership will include representation across the Tri-agencies, and
- at least three committee members will be from the FDGs (women, visible minorities, those of indigenous descent, and persons with disabilities).
