Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) is the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF’s) access to innovation program. It transforms defence and security challenges being faced by the various partners in DND/CAF like the Air Force, the Navy, Army, special forces, and others into innovative solutions to improve Canada’s defence capabilities. Launched in 2018, the program has been given $1.6 billion over 20 years to deliver on its mandate.
