The Waterloo Climate Institute is pleased to present “Understanding Canada’s National Adaptation Strategy”, a virtual panel on April 27th at 2:00pm that will explore the strategy and how it positions Canada to increase our resiliency to climate impacts.

You’re invited to the health data seminar on October 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to learn about opportunities to improve your access to health data. Dr. Jeff Latimer, the director of the Health Statistics Branch at Statistics Canada (StatCan), will break down how to engage and collaborate with StatCan to get access to their timely and relevant data on the health of Canadians.

Waterloo faculty members, staff and students are invited to the health data seminar "Better data. Better decisions. Healthier Canadians," with special guest, Brent Diverty, on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in EC5 room 1111. Brent Diverty, Vice-President, Data Strategies and Statistics at CIHI, will introduce the important and rich information available at CIHI, share progress being made in Canada towards better health data, and discuss working with CIHI data as a researcher or partner.

CBB is hosting a virtual talk with Eric Luvisotto, Technology Transfer Manager, WatCo, on the basics of Intellectual Property (IP) protection titled: IP 101 & Commercialization. This talk will be held over Zoom on March 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

You're invited to Research Talks, a public event and panel discussion on rural community development and well-being on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 6-9 p.m., St. Jacobs Lions Club, St. Jacobs, ON.

This panel focuses on issues relating to free speech, hate speech laws, and freedom of expression in and beyond university environments. It brings significant attention to the wealth and poverty of free speech, to university conduct under the rubric of expanding freedom of expression, and to matters concerning the banning of symbols, emblems, flags, uniforms, and insignia under hate speech laws.
