Canada's Volunteer Awards - Government of Canada 

Canada’s Volunteer Awards (CVA) recognizes volunteers, not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises and businesses for their contributions across the country. The Awards highlight the many ways that volunteering strengthens communities.

Value of Award A certificate signed by the Prime Minister; a lapel pin; the selection of a registered not-for-profit organization in Canada to receive a grant ($5,000 for the regional awards and $10,000 for the national award)
Eligibility requirements Political and public advocacy work is not eligible. One recipient is awarded in each of the 5 regions: Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Prairies, British Columbia and the North. Nominees can be: individuals or groups, businesses, social enterprises, not-for-profit organization. Individuals or businesses: must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, 18 years of age and over at the time of submitting a nomination, for Emerging Leader category, must be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of submitting a nomination and have contributed to addressing social challenges in their community. Businesses or not-for-profit organizations must be Canadian registered and have contributed to addressing social challenges in their community in Canada.

Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards - Women & Gender Constituency 

These awards showcase solutions for a more just, equal, and healthy planet. Winning initiatives are showcased across three different project types: 

  • Non-technical climate solutions with a women or gender perspective 
  • Technical climate solutions with a women or gender perspective
  • Transformational climate initiatives with a women or gender perspective

Oral History Association - Book Award

In 1993, the OHA established an award to recognize a published book that uses oral history to make a significant contribution to contemporary scholarship; and/or significantly advances understanding of important theoretical issues in oral history; and/or is an outstanding example of sound oral history methodology.

The OHA welcomes entries that represent the work of academic scholars, public historians, independent professionals, and community-based groups and individuals. Entries are welcome from around the world but must be in English.

Young Aboriginal Entrepreneur Award - CCAB

CCAB and ESS Support Services Worldwide, a division of Compass Group Canada, are proud to present The Young Aboriginal Entrepreneur Award. This award highlights the enterprising spirit of Indigenous business leaders under the age of 35 and honours impressive young entrepreneurs who are driving the Indigenous economy forward.

$10,000 CAD

Eligibility requirements

Canadian resident of First Nation (Status or Non-Status), Inuit or Métis ancestry under the age of 35. Self-employed for a minimum of one year.
