Call for Members: VPRI Nominating Committee
Dr. Charmaine Dean’s term as Vice-President, Research and International ends in 2027. Under Policy 68, the President is forming a nominating committee to conduct a search for this leadership role. The UWSA is responsible for appointing one staff member to the committee; another will be elected by and from regular staff in the Office of Research.

Term: Spring 2026, for up to 12 months

What’s involved
Please see Policy 68 – Vice-President, Research and International for details of the process. There will be 2–3 two-hour meetings before the summer, and the same in the fall term. Please note that interviews might fall on weekends.
Qualifications
The UWSA Appointments Committee is particularly looking for candidates who:
- Are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in hiring;
- Will review materials carefully and ask thoughtful questions;
- Understand the diverse experiences and needs of staff across relevant roles, departments, and employment types; and
- Are willing to share their thoughts and opinions with the committee while holding space for the perspectives of others.
