SDSN Canada is proud to support the launch of a video series promoting the Sustainable Development Goals and its implementation in Waterloo, Ontario. The 11-part video series brings together faculty from the University of Waterloo and staff from the City of Waterloo to discuss sustainable development topics and projects within the city.

SDSN Networks in Action 2021

The 2021 Networks in Action report features the accomplishments of all SDSN chapters from around the world over the past year. This year’s edition features a focus on the impacts of each network, from their efforts to localize the SDGs, engage with knowledge institutions and youth, improve education for the SDGs, fight the Covid-19 pandemic, advocate for a sustainable recovery, and promote viable sustainability solutions initiatives.

We are pleased to have hosted our second workshop on ‘SDGs Localization’ on October 26th, focusing on community engagement and the SDGs. The workshop featured a presentation and discussion with Lisa Attygalle, Consulting Director on Community Engagement with the Tamarack Institute.

Our Fall 2021 Update

The SDSN Canada Fall 2021 Update is available now, featuring:

  • The launch of three Voluntary Local Review Briefs;
  • Peer-learning Community of Practice for SDGs localization; and
  • A recap of SDSN Youth Canada's phenomenal year!

The newsletter additionally offers more opportunities, resources, and news on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Canada!

In partnership with Green Beacon and the Tamarack Institute, we recently co-hosted the workshop "SDGs Localization: From Recovery to Resilience", exploring how the SDGs framework can be used to advance sustainable development in cities and communities across Canada. Throughout the workshop, we heard stories of SDG collaboration and implementation, and reflections on the challenges that may come up in this work.

We look forward to their contributions to the network in pushing the SDGs forward in Canada! You can find a full up-to-date list of our network members and their contacts.

SDSN Canada and Green Beacon are proud to launch a new learning resource for cities and community organizations looking to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Three Voluntary Local Review (VLR) Briefs have been created, summarizing the experiences of localizing the SDGs in the cities of Los Angeles (USA), Pittsburgh (USA), and Bristol (UK).
