Scheduled maintenane Feb. 22 - 23, 2018

We will be performing scheduled maintenance to all WatCard systems beginning 3:00 p.m. Feb 22 and lasting until 3:00 a.m. on Feb 23. During this time all WatCard services may experience intermittent outages and some services may be unavailable until the maintenance is completed. We apologize for any inconveniences caused during this time.

WatCard recarding and Grand River Transit update

To ensure  continued and uninterrupted access to student services, we recommend that any registered students who have not yet updated their card, visit our service counter at their earliest convenience, and prior to leaving for winter break. Students who are currently on a co-op term should come in for their new card when they are back on campus in January.

Parking pay and display update

The issue affecting the use of new WatCards with parking pay and display meters on campus has been resolved. The pay and display meters will now accept both old and new styles of WatCard.

New off-campus WatCard vendors

We are excited to announce three local business that have joined our program for off-campus vendors: Balzac's Coffee Roasters (Phillip Street location), Mambella's Italian Kitchen, and Mucho Burrito Fresh Mexican Grill (King St. N. location). These locations will now accept WatCard Flex Dollars as a payment option.

Scheduled maintenane Oct. 17, 2017

We will be performing website maintenance between 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. on October 17. This maintenance will only affect add funds pages and WatCard account pages. In order to minimize potential issues we recommend that you do not log in to any of the account features during this time.

Temporary WatCard location with extended hours

The WatCard Office will have a temporary location set up in South Campus Hall between October 2 - 20 to help facilitate the fall recarding effort. This location will only be setup to print cards for returning students who are yet to receive their first new WatCard, and it will not be setup to process lost cards, do value adds or address general WatCard issues. If you have already been issued a new WatCard and need another replacement you will have to go to our main customer service counter inside Campus Tech in the Student Life Center. If you are a student currently on a co-op term and can not make it into our customer service counter during regular business hours this temporary location will be open Monday to Thursday until 6 p.m..

Location: South Campus Hall, room 118 beside the bookstore (where textbook returns happen at the start of term).

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. - 5p.m..

Closed: October 9, 10, 11.

WatCard ‐ New design, new technology

The WatCard office will begin issuing a new WatCard beginning on August 8, 2017. In addition to a brand new look, the WatCard will feature new technology, in the form of a contactless, smart‐chip to the card. The introduction of chip technology will allow us to move away from the older, magnetic stripe technology that has been used on the card since its introduction in 1993.

Fall 2017 campus recarding

What does campus recarding mean?

The WatCard Office will be issuing new WatCards to all registered students in Fall 2017. This includes first time students as well as returning students. We are switching to a new card technology that will have new security features and new functionality. All registered students will need to transition to the new WatCard in order to have full access to current and future student services.
