The WatCard program started in 1993 and quickly became the most comprehensive student card program in Canada. That tradition continues after more than 250,000 student cards printed as the WatCard office is dedicated to developing and improving WatCard features for all past, present and future cardholders.
The WatCard is the campus ID card for students, faculty, staff and affiliates of the University of Waterloo. Your WatCard will be your most used piece of identification on campus and offers access to many services both on and off campus. Just a few of the things you can use you WatCard for:
- Riding Grand River Transit buses in the Waterloo Region
- Purchasing food at University of Waterloo Food Services locations
- Identification for exams
- Access to your student residences
- Printing anywhere on campus with W Print
