Technovation Girls Waterloo event

Are you a Technovation alum?  Even if you aren’t, do you want to help encourage the next generation of women to experience computing?

WiCS is looking for students to volunteer at our in-person event for the Waterloo Chapter of Technovation Girls next Tuesday, March 15th at Terminal in Kitchener. The event is a drop-in event from 1 - 4 PM and is our first in-person event in almost two years! Teams will have the opportunity to collaborate on their projects together in a fun and encouraging environment.

We are looking for volunteers to act as informal mentors and coaches during the afternoon drop-in event. Any amount of time that you can offer would be helpful. Volunteering will involve:

  • Supporting teams with problem-solving (if you have experience with Thunkable or MIT app inventor, that is great! But not necessary)

  • Generally encouraging the teams in pursuing their project

  • Possibly supporting with t-shirt giveaway and welcoming participants

Information about the Technovation Girls program can be found here: https://technovationchallenge.org/

When: Tuesday March 15th between 1 - 4 PM

Where: Terminal, 305 King Street West, Suite #1100, Kitchener, Ontario.
