Graduating in 2013 with a Master of Public Health and holding current faculty appointments at the University of Toronto, McMaster University, and the International Space University, Alumnus Dr. Farhan M. Asrar has been pivotal in examining how outer space can further help the fight against the Ebola outbreak.

I got the Alumni Big Ticket last year intending to see a few games, but got hooked on the contrast between men’s and women’s volleyball. I watched more than 30 games, mostly in doubleheaders.
Can it really be 25 years?! We remember the first week well – a huge line up in the pouring rain to purchase textbooks, lab coats and of course a dissection kit at the Bookstore!
As a mother with two young boys, I am always looking for fun activities that we can do together. If we can get out of the house, or even go for a little drive, it’s a bonus. Throw in a learning experience at the Infant Studies Group labs and a new book – for free! – and we’ll be there.
It’s been almost 10 years since I graduated from the BMath program. On graduation day, if you had asked me where I saw myself in the future, “living in a rural village in Nicaragua” would not have been my answer. But yes, even out here, everything I need to know I learned from UWaterloo Math.
At the beginning of my co-op work term with UWaterloo Alumni Relations in May, I had one-on-one meetings with every member of the team. It was a great way to get to know one another, learn about their roles and responsibilities, and it truly made me feel welcomed to the team.

My family and I absolutely love the Alumni Big Ticket and here is why. Before 2013, we would only go once or twice to UWaterloo campus to take in a basketball game, usually during the annual Naismith Tournament.
