Philip Beesley speaking at DigitalFUTURES Living Architecture Panel

Waterloo Architecture Professor Philip Beesley will be hosting a DigitalFUTURES panel marking the opening of the Venice Architecture Biennale on Saturday, May 22 at 10am EDT. Philip will be joined by architects, artists and researchers Niccolo Casas (Italy), Daniella Mitterberger & Tiziano Derme/MAIED (Austria), David Benjamin (USA) and Salvador Breed/4DSOUND (Netherlands).

In this talk, Moayeri will explore the concept of Iranian queer heritage through case studies of spaces that have shaped the experiences of Iranian LGBTQ+ refugees to Toronto in Iran, Turkey, and Canada. In addition to this presentation of her graduate research, Moayeri will speak to her approach towards this personal topic and discuss thoughts on future research about queer space.

Lisa Heschong - Visual and Thermal Delight in Architecture

The 2B studio is sharing a speaker event with the larger community. Lisa Heschong, author of the seminal Thermal Delight in Architecture, will be sharing her new book with us Visual Delight in Architecture. It will be discussed broadly through the trajectory of her career, and will focus on topics especially central to the 2B term including microclimates, environment, and the concept of nature.
