The Design Build Research Colloquium is focused on discussion of Anishinaabe material and cultural traditions with a particular focus on the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation (MNCFN). The colloquium is organized by the Waterloo Architecture Design Build program (WADB) as part of the collaborative project between the MNCFN and WADB for the creation of a new pow wow arbor in a sacred grove at the heart of the community. The colloquium is open to all members of the University of Waterloo School of Architecture community as well as a wider public audience.

Toronto’s free all-night contemporary art event invites adventurous residents and visitors to take to the streets from sunset to sunrise. Experience Toronto transformed by hundreds of Canadian and international artists. One night only, all night long.

Nuit Blanche 2018 will focus on Toronto as a city of change and progress. Join the artists and curators while they unfold, reinterpret, disrupt, question, listen and view Toronto through new eyes and our places within it.

Paths to Practice is a day long event hosted by the School of Architecture and Co-operative Education and Career Action to bring together students, professionals, faculty, and co-operative education in exploration of current Architectural practice and employment opportunities.

As architecture students we are taught to draw, to distill information into lines concisely and abstractly. We diagram the relations between events and spaces over time. We zoom out. We make abstract to understand the scope of questions we seek to tackle. We find relationships. We highlight them. The aim is to zoom back in when we design, to touch the everyday.
