Beyond the Bulletin is a weekly podcast from the University of Waterloo with hosts Pamela Smyth and Brandon Sweet highlighting news, events and commentary from the Daily Bulletin of the University of Waterloo.

Ten projects from the 2021/22 year were recently highlighted in Dezeen online magazine. 

Designed and built by School of Architecture students the Tiny Home prototype is now on display at Civic Square at Cambridge City Hall from now until mid-November. Researchers from the University of Waterloo are working in partnership with the City of Cambridge to explore the possibility of tiny homes to create housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness in the region.

Haneen Dalla-Ali's (B.Arch, 2017, M.Arch, 2019) digital installation, Between a Rock and a Hard Place has been selected for Nuit Blanche 2022. The project will be hosted by TIFF at the TIFF Bell Lightbox throughout the event on Saturday, October 1st 7pm - October 2nd 7am.

Launched in 2008, Bracket is a research collaborative operating as a nonprofit association registered in Canada. School of Architecture Interim O’Donovan Director Maya Przybylski is editor and member of the collaborative led by four architect-academics based in Canada and the United States.

Jane Mah Hutton's keynote address at the 2022 Living Cities forum in Melboune, Australia is now online to view.

The 5^th edition of the forum, organised by The Naomi Milgrom Foundation took place on Thursday 21 July and was based around the theme 'Material Flows'.

More information on this annual gathering of architects and urban thinkers to explore the role of design, planning and architecture in shaping our society can be found on their website.

The 2021-22 competition theme asked students in Canadian schools of architecture to design a pedestrian bridge that spans two sites “to establish a meaningful connection. The bridge, by its elegance and gesture, should draw attention and be the symbol of a link between an origin and destination.”
