Jonathan

co-founder
and
first
president
of
the
Architectural
Research
Centers
Consortium
(ARCC),
the ARCC
King
Student
Medal
award
is
based
upon
criteria
that
acknowledge
innovation,
integrity,
and
scholarship
in
architectural
and/or
environmental
design
research.
Daniel's thesis Six Empty Shells, Contextualizing the Aspirations of Mexican Modernity through the Tlateloco Housing Complex, also received commendation.
Daniel Abad is a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture master's program. Daniel's recent work investigates the housing urbanism and architecture produced by the Meican state in the mid 20th century, a period defined by national identity and social reform. He unravels the promises embodied in these projects and documents their subsequent betrayal. He is a founding co-editor of galt. publication and co-directed BRIDGE Centre for Architecutre+Design. He has practiced in architectural firms in Toronto, CDMX, Rome, Barcelona and Paris.
