Biography summary

Kristin Schreiner is a multi-disciplinary designer with a background in sociology and architecture. Joining Waterloo as Adjunct Faculty in 2017, Kristin is particularly focused on the socio-cultural impact of architecture with extensive experience developing design projects in Canada, Europe and Asia. She is currently practicing at Martin Simmons Architects in Kitchener and continues her international work as part of llLab, an architecture and design laboratory based in Shanghai. From 2013 to 2016, Kristin was Project Leader and Architect in Practice at Knippers Helbig Advanced Engineering in Germany, where she served as a Façade Consultant for the design offices of Steven Holl, Renzo Piano, and Diller Scofidio Renfro. Kristin received her Bachelor in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary (2013), where she received the Faculty of Environmental Design Gold Medal, the Henry Adams AIA Certificate and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Medal. Previously, she practiced as a Designer at Kobayashi + Zedda Architects in Whitehorse, Yukon
