What will your email address be?

All uWaterloo undergraduate students will have the following email address:

  • yourUWuserid@edu.uwaterloo.ca

If you are an Arts faculty, staff member or graduate student, then your email address is:

  • yourUWuserid@uwaterloo.ca

Provided that you have not requested that the University keep your directory information private, you can use this shorter form of your email address: yourUWuserid@uwaterloo.ca

Note: this last address will only work if you have a correct email entry in WatIAM.

To ensure you have a correct email entry:

  1. Log into WatIAM with your WatIAM/Quest userID and password.
  2. Click Update Profile. 
  3. Ensure that the email address listed is correct:
    1. Undergraduate students: yourUWuserid@edu.uwaterloo.ca
    2. Faculty/staff: yourUWuserid@connect.uwaterloo.ca
    3. A small number of UW employees, grad students and service accounts have email inboxes on the Mailservices server: yourUWuserid@mailservices.uwaterloo.ca
  4. Click Save.
