Motivating Others (Student Leadership Program)

About this workshop

What are the necessary elements to create and sustain a motivational environment? What are some characteristics and/or actions that define people who motivate others? Does motivation come from within you, or does it come from the environment established by the group you work with? How does the power of diversity create better groups/teams? And how are diversity and motivation linked?

This course aims to explore these questions and more.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Learn about factors that impact motivation and demotivation from a leadership perspective
  • Reflect on your own personal motivating factors and preferences
  • Explore others' motivational preferences and consider how to motivate diverse individuals on a team
  • Explore strategies and skills aimed at creating and sustaining motivation
