The federal government has ordered a full review of Canada Post. This is not an unusual action; Canada Post’s mandate is supposed to be reviewed every 5 years and the last one was in 2008. The following is a summary of the review process:

Mailing and shipping recommendations in advance of potential work disruption

Canada Post update on the current labour negotiations with CUPW. While we are all hopeful that an agreement will be reached, there is a possibility that a labour disruption may occur.

USA, International & IUTS mail will NOT be affected if Canada Post goes on Strike

Please Note:  If Canada Post does go on strike, USA and International mail will NOT be affected and will still go out daily. IUTS will move as usual.  For Canadian mail that needs to go out, it will need to go by courier.  Please log into the Agile system.

Canadians could be faced with a summer postal lockout

Canadians could return from the Canada Day long weekend to find themselves without postal service, according to the union representing letter carriers.

Many Canadians began receiving notices in some of their bills this month warning them about a work stoppage at Canada Post and making alternate plans in order to avoid late fees.
