Neptunium, 93, Dexter High School, Michigan, U.S.A.
Neptunium: Neptune, God of the Sea, is standing in front of the planet bearing his name. He is carrying his trident, a superior weapon, pointed towards Uranus, his creator. Neptunium (Np) was first synthesized in 1940 by the transmutation of the element uranium by neutron emission. Neptunium further transmutes into plutonium, Pu-238, his radioactive abs! Neptunium was made from the clay polymer FIMO and his hair from wool-locks. The background is foam board and acrylic paint.

Original artwork by Samantha Jaworski. Trident: Tia Scarpelli, Advanced Chemistry Class students. Teacher: Cheryl V. Wells, Dexter High School, Dexter, Michigan, U.S.A.
