New battery research centre to be led by Chemistry professor

The new Ontario Battery and Electrochemistry Research Centre (OBEC) will be spearheaded by Linda Nazar (professor in the Department of Chemistry and Canada Research Chair in Solid State Energy Materials), along with Michael Pope (professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and director of Waterloo’s 2D Materials and Electrochemical Devices Lab).

The OBEC will be Canada’s newest facility with a goal of advancing next-generation electric vehicle battery development.
