Waterloo Chemistry alumnus leads Velocity

Chemistry Alumnus Adrien Côté (BSc Applied Chemistry ’99) was named Executive Director of Velocity this past week.

Adrien has a long career in helping scientific-based startups commercialize their ideas. Before coming to Velocity, he worked in corporate R&D and business creation for Xerox and as a principal investigator for the California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA. In addition to being a Waterloo alumnus, Adrien holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Calgary and an Executive Master’s in Technology Management from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics.

Adrien is excited to lead Waterloo’s premier startup incubator, which has helped launch more than 300 companies since its inception in 2008.
