Professor Radovanovic was profiled last spring for a paper in Nature Nanotechnology, in which he induced magnetization in certain semiconductors using light at room temperature. This fundamental breakthrough in the field of spintronics could pioneer a new way for electronic devices to store and process information that is far more efficient than conventional semiconductors.
His lab has also been successful in applied research, creating new nanomaterials, such as energy-efficient solid state lighting and photocatalysts for treating environmental contamination.
Professor Radovanovic will receive his award this June at the CSC Conference in Quebec City.
Congratulations, Pavle!
