Chemistry graduate student Ryan Moreira awarded best presentation

Ryan Moreira, a doctoral student with Prof. Scott Taylor, was awarded best presentation at the 30th annual Quebec-Ontario Mini-Symposium for Synthetic and Bioorganic Chemistry (QOMSBOC), hosted by University of Ottawa from November 8^th to 10^th, 2019. 

Ryan's award-winning talk described the synthesis of A54145D – a complex cyclic lipodepsipeptide antibiotic. The work was done in collaboration with Braden Kralt, another doctoral student in the Taylor lab. Their work could result in the develop of new treatments for antibiotic-resistant bacterial pneumonia and other life-threatening bacterial infections.
