CHEM 400: From Miniaturization and Nanoscience/Nanotechnology to Artificial Intelligence in Analytical Chemistry

  • Prerequisite: CHEM 323

Conceptually, this special-topics course in Analytical Chemistry is divided into two main parts.

Part 1 is an introduction to miniaturization of selected analytical instruments and to nanoscience and nanotechnology (with emphasis on their application to Analytical Chemistry).

Part 2 deals with the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to analytical spectroscopy (e.g., via Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), Deep Learning and Machine Learning).

If time permits, there will be a Part 3. This part will be a continuation of CHEM 323 and will include an introduction to electronic measurements for scientists.
