Overview: Crystal structures and symmetry. Electronic properties. Band structure theory with respect to physical properties, focusing on electrical conductivity. Topics include metallic vs. semimetallic vs. semiconducting properties, low-dimensional conductors, metal-nonmetal transitions and charge density waves.
