Introduction to Scientific Calculations
This course introduces computational tools and methods used to perform scientific calculations and analyze chemical data. Students will learn to organize, process, and visualize experimental data using Microsoft Excel, including data cleaning, statistical analysis, graphing, calibration curves, regression analysis, and error analysis. The course also provides an introduction to Python for scientific computing, focusing on basic data manipulation, numerical calculations, and visualization using simple scripts and notebooks. Through practical exercises using real chemical datasets, students will develop skills for accurate calculations, data analysis, and clear presentation of scientific results commonly encountered in laboratory and research settings.
