Advanced Research Project
- CHEM 495, 496, and 497 are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring term, respectively.
- For foreign exchange students only.
- Department consent required.
These three courses have been created for foreign exchange students wishing to carry out a research project during the full duration of their stay at the University of Waterloo. These courses represent a laboratory work on a senior year research project. The foreign exchange student is expected to spend a minimum of thirty hours per week on their research. Students choose their research topics, laboratories, and supervisors according to their preferences. The research project is proposed by the supervisor. These courses provide students with the unique opportunity of completing a research project on their own, under the supervision of experts in their field, and in state-of-the-art research facilities.
