CHEM 400: Advances in Analytical Atomic Spectroscopy

  • Prerequisite: CHEM 323

Conceptually, the description for this topic (which is offered for the first time) is divided into two parts.

Part 1 deals with the fundamentals of Atomic Spectroscopy (e.g., Boltzmann distributions, excitation temperature determination, determination of rotational temperatures, and the determination of electron number density).

Part 2 deals with the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to Analytical Atomic Spectroscopy (e.g., via Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), Deep Learning, and Machine Learning).

Please remember that the Undergraduate Calendar is always the official source for all course descriptions.
