Tim Paci has taught in Communication Arts at the University of Waterloo since his days as a graduate student in the 1990s.
For the past dozen years, he has coordinated and administered the Department's public speaking offerings. Over the past decade, Tim has served two terms as Associate Chair, Academic, and is currently Associate Chair, Undergraduate Communication Requirement. Tim’s interests include the influence of public speaking on public discourse and decision making, the effect of stories and language on meaning-making, communication & sport, and the democratic classroom. Tim is also the co-founder and owner of the Business of Writing, a written and oral communication partnership active in University of Waterloo staff training and continuing education. Tim’s recent efforts have focused on course design across disciplines. In the past decade, he has co-designed and launched courses for Arts and Business students, Accounting and Financial Management students, and Engineering students while teaching courses in areas such as interpersonal communication, leadership, organizational communication, and crisis communication.
