Our People

Administration

The Undergraduate Studies Manager provides leadership to the Instructional Support Group (ISG) and ensures communication between ISG, faculty administrative appointees to undergraduate studies, course instructors, the School of Computer Science administration and the Computer Science Computing Facility group.

Instructional Support Coordinators are responsible to the Undergraduate Studies Manager. ISAs, IAs and TAs report indirectly through their Instructional Support Coordinators.

The Undergraduate Studies Administrative Coordinator (USAC) assists with the operation of ISG. This includes acting as the WaterlooWorks liaison for hiring co-op students (i.e. ISAs), administrating HR pay authorization forms for ISAs, handling issues related to payroll/tax forms, and assisting with ISA orientations and training.

The USAC also provide assistance to the School's undergraduate programs and operations such as the URA program, full-time research awards, TA assignments, course-related classroom bookings and undergraduate events.

Instructional Support Coordinators

The primary role of the Instructional Support Coordinator (ISC) is to assist instructors by managing the administrative aspects of running a course, and to provide continuity and consistency from term to term.

ISCs have knowledge of the rules and administrative procedures that must be followed when it comes course delivery. They manage the ISAs, IAs and TAs who are assigned to a course for a particular term. ISCs also handle special situations such as academic integrity issues and students’ exemption requests.
