The University has made the important decision to proceed with spring 2020 term with no in-person academic activity. This means that we will hold all classes, including midterm and final exams, as well as academic milestones such as thesis proposals, comprehensive exams and defences, virtually.
We want you to have a quality learning experience at Waterloo during these times of unprecedented change. We also want to make sure that you can continue to make progress towards earning your degree.
Employees who are performing critical functions and require access to their workspace must receive approval from their department head and ensure the necessary key/fob access is available.
Some students will be expected to complete the requirements to replace the INC on their record with a numerical grade by the end of this (Winter 2020) term. Some of those students will be unable to meet the conditions of the INC agreement because they will be unable to write a deferred final exam or other assignment that cannot be completed in our present conditions.
Finance is issuing the following guidance on reimbursement procedures for costs incurred as a result of cancelling or changing business-related travel due to COVID-19.
This email addresses two points: 1) scheduling tips for Winter 2020 final exams; and 2) managing INC grades. Later this week, I hope to provide guidance regarding the impacts of students having an option to change their numeric grade to CR/NCR.
