Award description:
Two awards valued at $4,000 each are presented annually to excellent full-time graduate students in the Faculty of Arts, who conduct research on German language, culture, history, and/or society. Eligible students can apply by submitting a CV and a one-page research project proposal. Applicants must also arrange for a letter of support from a UW faculty member. The Application and letter of support to be sent to wcgs@uwaterloo.ca by March 1.

Value description:
Up to three awards valued at $2,500 will be given annually to current graduate students at the IQC at the University of Waterloo.

Eligibility & selection criteria: 

  • Full-time graduate students who are registered in the Faculty of Arts, conducting research in the German language, culture, history, and/or society.
  • Eligible students can apply by submitting a CV and a one-page research project proposal. Applicants must also arrange for a letter of support from a UW faculty member.
  • In order to be considered, the above documents and letter of support should be sent to wcgs@uwaterloo.ca by March 1.
  • Submissions will be adjudicated by the Waterloo Centre for German Studies Executive Committee - a group of German Studies professors - based on the merit of the research project proposal and its contribution to the mandate of the Centre as well as the student's record of graduate study and research.
