Award description:
One scholarship, valued at $10,000, will be provided annually to a female PhD student registered full-time in the School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Mathematics. Selection will be based on academic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent) and demonstrated research or interest in the area of natural language processing. The School of Computer Science will identify candidates and select recipients based on applications for admission with award payments starting in the fall term. This fund is made possible by a donation from Cohere.

Eligibility & selection criteria:
- Full-time female graduate students registered in the PhD program in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Mathematics, wherein women are underrepresented. Underrepresented criteria are subject to annual review and may change as per framework from IAP and Dean’s Council.
- Selection to be based on academic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent) and demonstrated research or interest in the area of natural language processing.
- This scholarship will be awarded in addition to any minimum funding the student is offered.
- The School of Computer Science will identify candidates and select recipients based on applications for admission with award payments starting in the fall term.
