Award description:
University of Waterloo graduate students and visiting graduate students in the department of Physics and Astronomy selected for this Award will work under the supervision of a University of Waterloo faculty member at the Perimeter Institute (PI) and will be resident at PI. Students may be nominated by a faculty member at PI who is also a faculty member at the University of Waterloo. A selection committee consisting of the holder of the Isaac Newton Chair at the Perimeter Institute, the Director of Academic Programs at Perimeter, and the Director of Guelph-Waterloo Physics institute, will choose the Award winners, who will be selected on the basis of their potential for enhancing the research programs of the Institute and of the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The award value and duration of award will be determined by the selection committee and will vary depending on costs of tuition and fees, and any other funding received by the student.
