Award description:
An award will be provided annually to a graduate student registered full time in the doctoral program in the School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Waterloo. Selection will be based on demonstrated academic excellence (i.e. minimum cumulative average of 80%) and research potential. Depending on funds available, the SAF PhD Policy Committee will select a recipient annually in the fall term.  

Eligibility & selection criteria:

  • Graduate students registered full time in the doctoral program in the School of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Arts.
  • Selection will be based on demonstrated academic excellence (i.e. minimum cumulative average of 80%) and research potential.
  • The award will be given in addition to any funding offered to the student at the time of admission to the doctoral program.
  • Recipient(s) will be selected, without the need for application, by the SAF PhD Policy Committee or its designate.

Value description:
Varies. The goal will be to provide an award annually in the fall term of at least $500; however, the value could be less depending on funds available.
