Scholarships valued at $3,000 will be awarded to women-identifying students registered full-time in a research-based master’s or doctoral program in the Cheriton School of Computer Science, wherein women are underrepresented. This scholarship is funded by contributions to Women in Computer Science.

Eligibility & selection criteria
- Graduate students must be registered full-time in a research-based master’s or doctoral program in the School of Computer Science.
- Students with an expected degree completion date in the calendar year of award selection are not eligible.
- Students must identify as a woman in the graduate program in the School of Computer Science wherein women are underrepresented. Underrepresented criteria are subject to annual review and may change as per framework from IAP and Dean’s Council.
- Interested students must submit an application form that can be found on the School’s website.
- Selection will be based on academic achievement and a written reflection of how the applicant’s experiences have informed their path in computer science and how this scholarship would contribute to their success in their graduate program at Waterloo.
- Selection will normally be made in the winter term by the Director of Women in Computer Science in the School of Computer Science
