Preeminent natural history illustrator PETER BURKE has been a student of the works of many master bird artists.
Peter started bird watching nearly forty years ago.
He attended the University of Guelph (1986-1990) where he trained in the Fine Arts program while obtaining a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences. He works as a biological consultant and an illustrator and a birding guide.
Come out to meet and network with sustainability-minded organizations and groups from on and off campus. Learn about what they are up to and how you could potentially get involved! The WRN meeting will start at 7:30pm with discussion on local environmental news, then second half will feature a guest speaker on "Reed It and Weep: Invasive Phragmites Australis in a Great Lakes Coastal Marsh"
In this workshop, you will
- Learn how soap is formed and the benefits of hand made soap
- Make soap with other participants
- Take home a bar of your soap
There will be opportunity to purchase soap.

Participants will learn about the common species of reptiles and amphibians in Ontario, lifecycles, threats, as well as what distinguishes a reptile from an amphibian. After a quick lesson participants will go outside and explore some habitats around campus where common species may reside.
Come join the Ecology Lab for Earth Day 2015 where we will be running a variety of different activities such seed bombing, planting, and laundry soap!

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, you will want to attend this presentation to learn more about birds and birding in Kitchener. We will discuss different tips on bird identification and bird feeding as well as some different places within the city where you can go to discover birds in your neighbourhood.
