ECE PhD student, Alex Zhengfang Duanmu, has been selected as the 2017/2018 recipient of the Carl A. Pollock Postgraduate Fellowship in Engineering. Only one fellowship is awarded annually to a student undertaking doctoral research in the Faculty of Engineering.

Emma Lozhkin, a new first-year computer engineering student, has won a Schulich Leader Scholarship. Winners are known as Schulich Leaders, and they receive between $80,000 and $100,000 towards their university education.
