Chettypalayam Selvakumar

Biography

Dr. Chettypalayam (Selva) Selvakumar is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. His research interests include modeling of bipolar and field effect devices, as well as experimental process technologies. Dr. Selvakumar's work focuses on Silicon/Germanium (SiGe) devices, low-temperature processing, and integrable IC technologies. In modeling, his efforts are dedicated to developing insightful analytical models and accurate DC and AC device models for bipolar and field-effect devices across a broad temperature range. His process modeling research is centered on dopant diffusion in implantation-formed alloy semiconductors. Additionally, Dr. Selvakumar’s experimental research emphasizes integrable process technologies, silicon-on-insulator technologies, and buried silicides for high-performance ICs, sensors, and optoelectronics.
