Colin Yates has been selected to receive the 2010-11 Robert Starbird Dorney Award for outstanding doctoral research in applied urban and regional human ecology and environmental management. A graduate of Environmental and Resource Studies' (ERS') master's programme, Colin is pursuing a PhD in University of Waterloo's School of Planning, under the supervision of ERS Prof. Stephen Murphy and Dr. Brent Wootton (Fleming College). Colin's area of interest is ecological impact assessment of constructed wetlands used for waste treatment in far north municipalities.
