SERS is pleased to welcome Christine Barbeau as the new lecturer in the school starting September 1st.
Christine will be teaching 5-6 undergraduate courses throughout the year with her focus on teaching three spring block field courses within the school.
Christine is a doctoral graduate from the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability at the University of Waterloo. Christine’s research background has focused on the social and ecological challenges and opportunities of climate change for First Nations living in the Canadian subarctic. She has researched the opportunity of using agroforestry systems to promote ecologically and socially sustainable local food systems in First Nation communities in subarctic Ontario. Further, Christine’s research has contributed to the development of a web-based informatics tool that can help reduce the challenges associated with bush travel in the subarctic due to rapidly changing climatic conditions.
