Are you new to the Waterloo Region? Or perhaps you have heard a territorial acknowledgement and are unsure what it means. Join FAUW for an orientation to the University of Waterloo's location on Haudenosaunee, Anishnabeg and Attawandaron (Neutral) territory, what Indigenization is all about, and a discussion on our collective responsibilities towards reconciliation.

Sue Fraser, employee career advisor at the University's Centre for Career Action, is available to help partners of faculty members in their job search, through individual appointments and workshops.

Share your experiences, discuss useful resources (or the lack thereof), exchange strategies, and generally establish a sense of community with other faculty doing double duty as caregivers.

Whether you are actively searching for potential collaborators or if you just want to bounce around some ideas in an informal setting, this meetup will facilitate those conversations. 

With our increasingly plugged-in lives, it's important to establish expectations and set boundaries around email and work time for weekends, evenings, and vacations. Come out and learn how others successfully disconnect and unplug without making things worse. 

Learn about useful and essential campus technology at the September session of our new Lunch & Learn series. Representatives from Information Services & Technology will map out the landscape of technology services for faculty and FAUW reps will highlight some ways to stay up-to-date on what's happening on campus.

Join other faculty interested in exploring our role in confronting the climate crisis and its multiple injustices, global and local.

The FAUW Fall General Meeting is Thursday, December 5 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in QNC 1502. Lunch will be provided. Voting members: check your email for the written reports and other meeting material.

The Council of Representatives provides two-way communication between the FAUW Board of Directors and each academic unit at Waterloo.

FAUW and the University invite all faculty who've started since last September to a casual family-friendly dinner on September 23.
