Canadian Association of University Teachers

FAUW is a member of  the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), the national organization representing university faculty. A portion of FAUW dues goes to CAUT each month.

CAUT works with associations across the country, bringing national and international perspectives to help solve local challenges. CAUT also brings local priorities to the national agenda, and together we’ve influenced federal policy and investments in research and post-secondary education.

Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations

FAUW is a member of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA), the provincial organization representing faculty members. A portion of your dues goes to OCUFA each month.

OCUFA is the voice of 17,000 university faculty and academic librarians across Ontario. They seek to maintain and enhance the quality of the province’s higher education system, and to advance the professional and economic interests of its members.

FAUW has provided a start-up loan to RAAS and provides support and services to the association and its members in exchange for membership fees. A member of the RAAS executive sits on our Board of Directors in a non-voting capacity (and vice versa) and their Equity Committee chair sits on our Equity Committee.

LAAUW – Librarians and Archivists Association of the University of Waterloo

While academic librarians at many Canadian universities are represented by faculty associations, Waterloo librarians are officially represented by the University of Waterloo Staff Association (UWSA) at this time. They have the option to join either UWSA or FAUW as dues-paying, voting members if they choose.
