Current opportunities at FAUW
Hagey Lectures Committee
The Hagey Lectures Committee coordinates the premier invitational lecture series at the University of Waterloo. The committee has a representative from each Faculty, selected jointly by the University provost and the president of FAUW.
Over the course of approximately six meetings a year, members generate a shortlist of potential speakers, and (especially for those in a related Faculty) help coordinate communication with the selected speaker and with staff/faculty members in related departments to plan supplementary events (e.g. a student colloquium). Committee members also generally support the delivery of the lecture and related events and provide feedback on issues as they arise in and between meetings.
There are openings starting July 1, 2020, for representatives from the faculties of Engineering and Environment. Terms are two years, renewable once.
Council of Representatives
Every department/school selects a representative for the FAUW Council each September. How each rep is selected is up to the department/school. If you're interested, talk to your chair (and your colleagues!), or contact Laura McDonald.
