Bring your voice to the table by volunteering with FAUW. Whatever your expertise or interests, we'll find a role for you. If you don't see something suitable below, email and let us know how you think you can help.

Service to FAUW counts as service to the University for your annual performance review.

Current opportunities

Complementary Teaching Assessment

FAUW and University of Waterloo are jointly seeking four faculty members from a range of disciplinary areas and backgrounds to serve on the new Complementary Teaching Assessment Project Team (CTAPT). One of these faculty members will chair the working group.

CTAPT’s terms of reference describe the group’s purpose as to research and develop methods of assessing teaching and learning complementary to Student Course Perception surveys, and to consult widely with the University community about best practices for such assessment.

Learn more about CTAPT in the call for members.

Board of Directors

Elections are held every year in March for new Board members. In 2018 we will be electing our six Faculty-specific representatives. More information and nomination forms are available on our Elections page.

Social Committee

We’re recruiting members for a new social committee to help run more social events for faculty that go beyond hanging out at the Grad House (though we know you like that too).

Please email if you're interested. If you're looking to organize events for a particular demographic (parents, single new faculty members, runners), that works too!

Council of Representatives

Every academic unit selects a faculty member for the FAUW Council of Representatives in September of each year. We currently have vacancies in Earth and Environmental Sciences, Kinesiology, and Recreation and Leisure Studies. Talk to your chair about representing your department.
