Bruce Taylor was born in Montreal, Quebec. He received his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (1989) and joined the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo in 1993. He has taught at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Emily Carr School of Art and the Rhode Island School of Design. He has been the recipient of several national and international prizes and awards and is the only Canadian to have a work featured at the Olympic park in Amaroussion Greece (2004 Olympics). His work is represented in the following public collections: The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art (Toronto, ON), Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery (Waterloo, ON), Tajimi City (Mino District, Japan), Burlington Arts Centre (Burlington, ON), World Ceramic Center (Ichon, Korea), University of Waterloo (Waterloo, ON), Olympic Park (Amaroussion, Greece), Yingge Ceramics Museum (New Taipei City, Taiwan).
