Friday, October 2, 2015 11:00 am - 3:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Jess Riva Cooper will give an artist talk about her work from 11:00 - noon in ECH 1219 followed by a ceramics workshop from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Jess Riva Cooper's work from the "Viral series"
Jess is a ceramic artist who integrates colour and drawing with clay to create installation-based artwork. Her work expresses the power of nature to overcome man and reclaim abandoned objects and spaces and is influenced by fairy tales and fables particularly the stories Golem and Dybbuk spirits in Yiddish folktales.  More information about the artist's work can be found on her website.

Jess will also run a hands-on workshop from 1:00-3:30 in the ceramics studio (ECH 1223) dealing with decals and tips on working figuratively in clay. The workshop is open to students in all levels/years but space is limited and a sign-up sheet is posted on the Fine Arts office door (ECH 1206).
